Message Z32. The technology wasn't a direct carry over in all cases, but it definitely moved the concept of ideas such as HICAS, DOHC/ 4 valves per cylinder, Twin Turbos to mainstream production. (Remember this was from the early/mid 80's and Nissan had some of this technology in very limited production - mostly for the Japanese market). The power plant in this vehicle was rated up to 330 hp using the same basic motor architecture as the Z32 (twin turbos, 3 liter capacity, etc....)

While the first generation Mid 4 looked boxy and blatantly copied exotics like Ferrari and Lotus as mentioned in the above replies, the second generation Mid 4 moved towards it's own identity and looked much better; although you can see a lot of the Ford Probe in this design (but again, this was out before the 2nd gen Probe)
